Week 6: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

Week 6: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

This week we will look at how walking in love is a battle. Like most good things in life, it doesn't come easy. Thankfully, we are told exactly what we need to do in order to experience a victorious life in the midst of a battle that rages on.

Our world is noisy isn't it? We are overloaded with information, noise and social media just to name a few things. We need to intentionally quiet the noise of the world and turn up the volume of truth. As you'll see this week, truth is essential and the foundation of being prepared for battle!

Week 5 Discussion: Living on Purpose

Share your response to one of the reflection/discussion questions from this week's study below:

  • Time is a valuable resource. We can always find time for the things we deem important. What currently occupies the majority of your free time? Do you find yourself saying, “I don’t have time” when it comes to spiritual disciplines? What can you rearrange in your life in order to prioritize exposing your life to truth?

  • Is your tendency to lean towards being dependent (doing less) or active (doing more) when it comes to spiritual growth? Give one example of what being a dependently active  partner with the Spirit would look like.

  • The word Kairos that is translated “time” means “that which time gives the opportunity to do, and may be necessary but not convenient.” What do you feel God prompting you to do that is necessary though perhaps not convenient?

  • What is your instinctive response to the words submit and respect ?

Week 5: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

Week 5: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

Hello Week 5! Can I just say, you are awesome for sticking with this? Like I said last week, there are those who pick up where they left off and those who don't. If you aren't quite on week 5, it's all good. I'm part Filipino. I do late.

Ironically, this week is all about how walking in love is INTENTIONAL. That's right... it doesn't happen by accident. We have to be intentional about how we spend our time, what we invest in, obeying God in relationships and exposing our life to the truth. If you're on any week of Ephesians, congratulations, you're exposing your life to the truth. Stick with it! You won't regret it. Not because of me, but because you are spending time in the truth, with the Truth. He does great work! I look forward to hearing from you on Thursday. Watch for the week 5 discussion blog to share what you're learning!

(Over Christmas, I finished an 11-session Bible study that I started last June. Do the math. Just saying... you're probably doing alright!)

Week 3: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

Week 3: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

Welcome to Week 3! If you are reading this, I am THRILLED. You have stuck with it. Keep on! Slow and steady wins the race. At the end of your personal study this week, you will be halfway through this study.

The first half of Ephesians is all about understanding how we have been loved. So far, we've seen that walking in love begins with our identity change and flows as we understanding how we have been loved. This week you are going to see the gospel at work in living and walking a life of love.

The gospel, or the good news of Jesus in my place, is a reality that we continue to live and I cannot wait for you to see that this week as you dive into the Word with the Holy Spirit as your teacher.

Week 2: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

Week 2: Walk in Love Through Ephesians

As of today, there are 362 people on this Ephesians journey with us. God has completely blown my expectations out of the water. I'm so thrilled that so many have a desire to get into the word and privileged that you've allowed us to serve you in this way.

Last week, our big picture was "Walking in love begins with understanding who I am." This week we will continue to see what God has done on our behalf. This week's big picture is "Walking in love flows as I understand how I have been loved."
