Slow Cooker Summer

Summer is a wonderful break in our regular rhythms. It is more relaxed and often spontaneous. For me less structure, can also mean less spiritual food if I'm not intentional. There is often a break in face to face Bible study which leaves a great opportunity for an online Bible study. I know summer is BBQ not slow cooker season, but when it comes to being with God in His Word, it's the long term committment, the slow cooker approach, that will shape us.

Why not phone a friend and together, sign up for either James: A Roadmap for Trials or Walk in Love through Ephesians, (or pull it back off the shelf!) It's amazing what a simple weekly phone call or coffee can do for accountability. The workbooks are available as a free download when you sign up and the videos can be accessed anytime on the respective pages.

I picked up "Entrusted" by Beth Moore a couple of months ago and started going through it on my own until Lifeway Women announced they would be offering the videos online this summer for FREE from June 15-August 15, 2017. I shelved it with the intent to pick it back up at the beginning of July.

"In this 6-session Bible study, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live a life of faithfulness."

To join, you will need to:

  1. Purchase a copy of the Entrusted workbook
  2. Sign up on the Lifeway Women All Access blog (all videos will be available on their site)

Lifeway is also offering Steadfast Love by Lauren Chandler. It is a verse by verse study of Psalm 107. She wrote it from her journey with Jesus when her pastor husband Matt Chandler was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

"There are times when worship overflows effortlessly from a heart full of gratitude and praise. And there are times when God seems far and we feel we have nothing to offer. Throughout it all, God shows us His steadfast love. Psalm 107 is a call to worship. It reminds us that each season of life is an opportunity to reveal the anchor of our souls. In this 7-session Bible study, learn to face both storms and deserts with courage and trust in Jesus, and discover how tests in our journeys of faith reveal the true condition of our hearts. For there is no fear for the one who fears the Lord, the one whose soul is anchored in His steadfast love."

To sign up:

  1. Purchase the Steadfast Love workbook HERE
  2. Visit the Lifeway Women All Access blog

The Lifeway Online studies began this week so if you want to check out either of the videos before you purchase a workbook, you can do so there! Both will be up until August 15.

I hope you have a great summer  slow cooking with Jesus in His Word!

And pray for me this summer as I continue studying and writing the next online Bible study for Get Into the Word!

Only by grace,

Stephanie
